Movimiento de 19 de Abril
M-19 or the 19th of April Movement was a Colombian guerilla mouvement formed in 1974 (January, 17).
Leaders: Antonio Navarro Wolff, Jaime Bateman Cayón, Carlos Toledo Plata, Alvaro Delgado Fayad and Carlos Pizarro León-Gómez.
El Movimiento de 19 de Abril was considered as the second largest guerrilla group in Colombia after the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. M-19 became a political party in the late 1980s: AD/M-19, Alianza Democrática M-19 or the M-19 Democratic Alliance.

19 refers to The April 19, 1970 elections unjustly stolen from presidential candidate Rojas Pinilla. M-19 was founded to ‘fight for a more open political system and a popular democracy in Colombia’.
