Why Number 8?
According to the official website:
It takes an average of 8 years for the agaves to ripen before being harvested.
Carlos Camarena has 8 brothers and sisters.
This tequila is made from the 8 sample created by the Camarenas for Tomas Estes.
It takes 8 days from when the agaves reach the patio at the distillery until it becomes blanco (unaged) tequila.
Ocho Reposado is aged for 8 weeks and 8 days.
It takes about 8 kilograms of agave to make 1 litre of Ocho tequila – very high versus industry average.
